Happy Birthday Dear Isaac

We had a party for Isaac on Saturday and since then he's been randomly bursting into song, "Haaapppeeee Biiiiiiirrrrrfday Deeeee Iiiiiiii-ick!"
With a lot of recent birthdays, he has a clear understanding about birthday parties and was so excited about his own party.
His two year fiesta was Little Blue Truck themed.  Isaac hung in there until almost the end and then decided to relax under the table.

Isaac was so excited to have so many people he knew at the party.  I think the biggest treat was having his friend Zander, from childcare there.

Isaac at two is a wonderful handful.  He's very aware of everyone around him and is quick to let you know if he's not happy, but all in all, his cheerful personality shines through.  As my dad says, "He leads with a smile."
The new found temper seems directly correlated with an increased vocabulary and the emergence of complex sentences.  He also still has lots of funny phrases.  When he wants something, he says, "NO NOT!  Listen to Baby Beluga NOW!" and if we don't respond, "One!  Two!  Three!  Five!" (he can count to ten, but always skips 4.)  The other day my mom had her gps on when driving to Corvette Diner. (afterward we were going to the beach.)  Every time

the gps gave a direction, Isaac would yell, "NO!  Go to Beach!"

Isaac is very strong and very fast.  He loves balls, bats, swords, and anything boyish.  I wonder if he's getting some of this at childcare, because it seems way beyond anything modeled at home.  My favorite thing that he does right now is pose in these very manly stances.  Throwing a ball or fighting with a sword both require big macho productions.  Yesterday he got his feet so wide apart when gearing up for a funnoodle sword fight that he fell plop on his bottom.

Isla and Isaac are getting along very well right now.  The hitting and biting has decreased and Isla is getting better about avoiding him when he might be aggressive.  She sings him a lullaby before every nap and bedtime and if she misses it, he gets very sad.  She also gives him, "tike squeezes" which are cheek pinches.  Somehow he loves them.
Isaac enjoys singing and showing off, but also loves to cuddle and read.  He still gives amazing hugs.

The other night he gave me a hug and then very seriously took his paci out and gave me a kiss and then patted my hair.  It was so sweet.  He continues to be our darling little man and he makes every moment of our lives more special.
