To give you an idea about the pace that Isaac is meeting milestones right now, here's what he accomplished today alone:
- Pulling to standing in his crib in a sleepsack (Good thing I lowered it all the way on Wednesday!) (This means he pulls up, gets stuck and cries.)
- Pushing up to sitting from lying down (He started trying to do this a few days ago.)
- Pulling to standing on a plane wall (not even sure how he does this - spidey hands?)
- Cruising well
- Turning pages in a book for me while I read
- Lowering himself from standing to sitting (still a work in progress.)
-Saying "Daddy" clearly
I forgot to mention, that he also helps with dressing and getting in and out of the car seat by anticipating my moves and moving his arms and legs.
He has a major junky cough and has been sleeping so poorly (I'm sure in part because of all the motor development). It is exhausting. Happily, he is so excited about his accomplishments that he is pretty chipper during the day.
Update from 1 day later (Monday 8-20): The junky cough is (another!) sinus infection and Isaac is using the sign for "more" spontaneously at meals. He is SO proud. He has also elevated his peek-a-boo skills (a favorite pastime for the past few months) to new levels by covering & revealing our faces instead of his own.

Holy moly, that's a LOT for his brain to be working on! "UGH" on the sleep front (why does nobody WARN YOU that when they're working on new skills their sleep goes KAPLOOEY????) but, "WOW, Yay Isaac!" on the rest of it! (Love the spidey hands visual, btw! Halloween costume, perhaps?) :)
So happy to hear that Ike is reaching all of these milestones, and is such a happy boy!
