This entry could also be called, "I got chins and they're multiplyin'!"
Isla is growing in more ways than one. With 2.5 solids a day she has started filling out. Luckily a few extra rolls doesn't detract in the least from her cuteness.
Isla is also making major strides in social and communicative behavior. She seems to have a good receptive understanding of "Mama" and "Daddy" and possibly a few other words. She also loves engaging people around her. It is amusing and delightful to watch her growing range of emotions. Now, instead of just happy, content and mad, we have grumpy, sleepy, silly, frustrated, nervous, bored, excited, hilarious, sad, snuggly and lots of other moods.
Her sense of humour is also blooming and recently she started repeating behaviors to try to get another laugh. She is also is engaging in lots of imitative and interactive play. On Tuesday she started initiating peek-a-boo by covering up her face with a book or napkin or bib and pulling it down when we ask, "Where's Isla?!?"
We just got home from a fabulous visit to my parents house with Gretchen and Charlotte. It was beautiful to see my hometown with all the leaves turning for fall. We had a wonderful time visiting with some of our favorite people - Gramma and Grandpa, Graunty Didi, Auntie Shanni and lots of old friends.
Beautiful New Handmade 'Edwardian' Thanksgiving Dress - brought to you by Gramma. Spunky Personality - brought to you by Isla. (The persimmon was making her pucker up!)
