So Thankful!

It is hard to express my gratitude for the past 9 and a half months...  All I can say is that it has been the best year of my life, thanks to my wonderful husband and beautiful little girl.

Isla feels the same way!  For grace we each shared what we were thankful for.  When it was Isla's turn we asked her if she was thankful for Daddy or Mommy and she looked at Andrew and grinned and said, "Dada!"  Then we asked if she was thankful for Mommy too and she looked at me and said, "Mama!"  Yikes!  I almost burst out in tears right at the table.  Isla has been using "Mama" and "Dada" so well lately.  It is music to our ears!
"Hurry up with grace and lets eat already!"

We had a fantastic thanksgiving at Dan & Barbara's place.  Isla loved playing with her cousins.

We all pitched in and, as Dan pointed out, the food was delicious because each person got to make something they really liked and put a lot of effort into it.  I made 2 pumpkin pies, an apple crumb pie, orange bourbon pecan pie, green bean casserolle, orange rolls, and persimmon apple waldorf salad.  Grandma Jeanette made delicious wasabi deviled eggs and an amazing tukey, earning her the new title of "Turkey Lady"!  She has the job of cooking the turkey from now on!  My favorite dishses were Barbara's cranberry sauce and Dan's sweet potato and bacon stuffing.

It was uncharacteristically hot, so Isla got to wear two Thanksgiving dresses.  She is refusing to wear hair bows though!

Today we spent the day getting our Christmas decorations out and listening to John Denver and the Muppet's Christmas Album.  Right now we are enjoying lots of leftovers!
