Isla and Ike were recently invited to Isla's BFF's birthday. The party theme was a "Royal Ball."
(Of course this led to endless discussions about Isla's next birthday party theme - currently she
also wants a Royal Ball, but it needs to be
Sofia the First themed, which means all the princesses can be involved, since Sofia can summon them with her magic ammulet and the cake might be shaped like a crown or an amulet, or a castle or Minimus, Sofia's pagasus, or some swing that figures large in a
Sofia episode. ...and because all the princesses will be involved we need a food item from each princess's land, and the food from Tiana's land will be beneigts, and the colors will be purple and pink and there will be a dance floor and princess music and all of Isla's friends will be invited including her teachers and her dance teacher, Ms. Amy.)
Needless to say, Isla was pumped up about this party. She wore an Aurora gown, which I spiffed up with some trim from the fabric store. Having just started summer break, I decided Ike needed a special outfit too. He dressed as Prince Charming, complete with Andrew's dinner medals from the Coast Guard, a cape and lots of royal charm. He pretty much hated the outfit and tried to take it off right away, but it was worth the 5 minutes of "oooing" and "awing" we got to have. (The other high light of the party was using the crown decorating sequins to decorate sparkly snails.)

We ended up staying all afternoon and having dinner too (two burgers in one day!). This led to Isla and Charlotte making a "sneaky plan." The "sneaky plan" turned out to be taking two large jars of purple sprinkle sugar from the ice cream bar and going behind the couch. Once there, they proceeded to open and devour the sugar. Prolonged silence, followed by Ike wandering out with a waffle cone, which he had no way of accessing independently, clued us in. The lucky princesses didn't even get in much trouble. We were all trying too hard not to laugh and they were too high on sugar to even process the lecture.
