The shower seriously could have been planned by professional party planners - everything detail was thought out. Most impressive of all, they put together the shower amid a crazy time - all of them were getting ready to go back to work, one is in the midst of 1st trimester exhaustion, one was in a wedding the night before and in the middle of moving, one had her daughter's birthday party the day before and house guests, and one was living in a gutted house while renovating it!
The theme was "Ships Ahoy! It's a Boy!" with lots of whales and little nautical details. It was SO cute!
It was really fun to see all my extended SoCal family, work friends, school friends and mommy friends together - especially since there is getting to be a lot of overlap between the groups. It was also wonderful to have my Aunt Didi and my mom attend the shower (& visit with them & my dad & Aunt Carol during the week they visited!).
Isaac was showered with tons of precious baby clothes, all kinds of supplies, diapers, shoes, toys, books, and room accessories. More importantly I know he (& our family) has a huge network of love and support as we make our transition to a family of four. We are SO blessed!
Isla was also given some toys and books, which made it easier when I came home with all the goodies. She took possession of a few things (a blanket and towel), but was ok with the general premise that Isaac has nothing and she has loads of things, so we need to even the scales a bit. She really enjoyed helping me write thank you notes for all her gifts.
I think everyone had so much fun we forgot to take photos! These are all from before the shower started.
Yummy chicken salad sandwiches (everyone kept raving about the salad, & Catherine finally confessed that it was from Costco - great to know!), quiche (not pictured), fruit salad, scones and jam! Yum!!!
