Last Tuesday was St. Nicholas Day. Andrew thinks I made the whole thing up, but apparently when he was explaining it to someone at work, another colleague overheard and exclaimed, "Finally! Someone else who knows what it is!" (She also happens to be the colleague who sent me US magazines while I was in the hospital... a kindred spirit!)
Isla put out her and Isaac's shoes the night before and was very excited and a bit nervous about Santa coming by that night. We also wrote a letter to Santa to leave in her shoe. The next morning Santa left gifts (Christmas books and snowman 'jams' aka - pajamas) for each of them and a candy cane and chocolate coins for each. Isla was thrilled!
In his letter, Santa told us to keep a look out in the evening when he would be flying back to the North Pole. That evening during dinner we heard Santa's sleigh bells and gold coins magically fell though the ceiling onto the table. Isla was impressed and immediately curious about how they got through the ceiling and why their weren't holes in the ceiling.
All in all it was a wonderful and festive celebration!

Okay, I'm curious too, how did they fall from the ceiling? :)
