Bro will get lots of shots. He will also get medicine to make him feel better! Isaac will stay at the hospital until he is better and better!
On Friday Mama & Daddy will take Brother to Children’s Hospital. They will stay with Isaac until his surgery is over and they might spend the night with him. Mama and Daddy are doing this so that Bro doesn’t feel too scared or sad.
Mama and Daddy do not want Isla to feel scared or sad either. They have invited Granma and Grandpa to stay with Isla during Brother’s surgery. Grandpa is Isla’s prince. Daddy is Isla’s other prince. Granma & Grandpa will arrive on Wednesday so they can spend time with everyone before Bro’s surgery.
Isla is feeling sad about leaving Mama & Daddy at the hospital alone, but she is happy Granma and Grandpa will be visiting. Yey!
When Granma and Grandpa are here they will do lots of things with Isla. Some of the things they might do are:
- - Have dinner with Charlotte’s family
- - Visit Children’s hospital
- - Go to the Children’s Museum
- - Visit the beach
- - Go to the sand park
- - Go to In & Out
- - Go to the Aquarium
- - Go to Preschool
- - Have lunch at McDonald’s at the hospital
- Play playdoh and do art
Isaac will miss his sister when he is in the hospital. Isla can visit the children’s hospital if she wants to. The hospital has Froggies, Turtles, and Seals. It has a boat that Isla wants to climb in. At the hospital you can eat at McDonald’s. The hospital has gardens and playrooms. Isla might go to the hospital to visit Bro, see the boat and have a milk shake or ice cream.
When Isaac is in the hospital Mama and Daddy will be visiting him a lot. They will also come home to visit Isla a lot. Mama and Daddy wish that Isaac did not have to have surgery so they could stay home with Isla and Isaac. But, Mama and Daddy are happy that the doctors are doing surgery to make Bro’s tummy better. When Bro comes home from the hospital Mama and Daddy will come home too. Mama and Daddy and Isaac and Isla will be so happy when Isla and Isaac are both home!

*I'm not the only one feeling nervous about Friday. Isla had a rough night last night. She still remembers last Fall. We wrote this today. Hopefully it will help.

Such a great story! How long do they anticipate Isaac having to stay in the hospital for after his surgery? I don't think you'd mentioned recovery or going home in your other posts . . .
I love that Isla helped you write such a great social story! So cute. I will definitely be thinking and praying for you guys this week. This has been such a tough start to such a wonderful life, but hopefully things start looking up very soon. And yay for rolling!
This story brought tears to my eyes. I love what a great mother you are and what a darling and loving sister Isla has swiftly become. It has got to be hard on all of you to go through this again, so soon after the last huge trial. I feel for Isla, she is a very smart girl and I know she missed you intensely last time.
