Isla plays in her toddler bed for anywhere from 10 to 90 minutes before falling asleep for naps and bed times. Sometimes she reads to herself or to her animals, sometimes she sets up elaborate play scenarios, sometimes she "loses" her favorite paci and then does a sort of fake cry until we come check on her.
A "happy nappy" or bedtime almost never goes by without songs too. She loves music and in the past year her ability to carry a tune has really developed. (Not that her music was lacking in anyway when it was lacking a tune - I loved those loud tuneless songs of the past!)
Today I can here, "Its a pretend airplane Mrs. Lizard (Wizard?)!!! Come see!!!" and also, the repeated refrains of "SOMEONE'S SINGING LORD! COOM BYE YEAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!" (and that is "yeah," not "yaw.")
