A Little Thinker!

The real posts from the past 7 weeks are coming, but another cool thing happened today & I wanted to share.
We were reading Go Dog Go tonight for the first time. At one point in the story there is a line of cars heading towards a green stoplight with a bird about to step out in front of them. Isla has been very into stop lights & their meaning for the past few months, so I asked her if it was ok for the dogs to go & pointed to the green stop light.
She looked concerned & said, "No, because that bird is going to cross in front of the cars."
Needless to say, I was impressed with her logic.
PS - We had a hilarious beach trip today. We went with friends to have a BBQ at the beach & after about 30 minutes the tide started coming ALL the way in. (Check out this picture - we are all the way at the back of the beach - look at the wet sand & people scrambling.)Because we were all the way back by the retaining wall we didn't get wet but everyone directly in front of us did.
Since the tide wasn't supposed to beat it's highest for another 45 minutes we took the hint & packed up. According to the life guard it would be all the way to the wall at high tide. Despite our short visit, Isla, Andrew, Bryan & Charlotte all went swimming. Here's Andrew & Isla in the water. (Isa is in Andrew's arms, not that random person next to them in the water.)
